Looks like Eagle Dynamics registered the F-18C.COM domain. ZeroMass, an user from the ED forums made this discovery. When you go there you won’t find anything but you can’t miss the favicon in the address bar. It’s the same one used in their main website. In addition to this, when you look for the domain registration (which I copied below) you will have the final confirmation.
I am very happy if they finally decided to simulate the Hornet for their next title. My main criticism for DCS A-10 has always been the choice of the aircraft (CAS without Air-to-Air) and location of the campaign. But there is no doubt that the Hornet would change everything. I feel excitement just to think about carrier operations. That would be a dream come true, we haven’t had anything like that for decades!
If this happens for real I will be the first one to pay for their work. Heck, I would even pay double just to support an F-18 sim.

Am I the only one dissapointed that this will not be an F-16 simulator?
Yeah, F-16 would have been nice especially for people with a viper pit and other custom stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved that.
But I guess there is too much pressure when you do a F-16 sim because everyone will start comparing it to Falcon and pointing out things missing, errors in the avionics or other differences.
From a developer point of view it’s easier to choose a different aircraft so there is no direct comparison and they can avoid to go head-to-head with one of the best sim ever made.
That being said F-18 is a lot better than the A-10, it’s a multirole figher jet that can satisfy everyone and landing on a moving carrier at night and catching the right cable never gets old!
I agree that an F-18 sim would be more interesting than an A-10 sim. Air-to-air, anti-ship, carrier ops, maybe even some online buddy-refueling? It is definetly worth buying if done right. Hopefully it will be compatible with LOMAC and allow online carrier vs. carrier ops.
I wonder how these guys feel about a DCS Hornet

I guess I had high hopes for the Viper after what Matt Wagner said a long long time ago in this interview
“Currently, the emphasis is on air-to-ground combat with the Ka-50 and the A-10C to follow. However, we already have several air-to-air fighters like the Su-27 and F-16 in development to be introduced into the DCS environment at a later date”

Anyway, I they build it, I will come
Eagle dynamics needs dynamic campaign.
This news is amazing!
@Phalanx: For now only their name is Dynamic(s)…
Personally I would be very disappointed if it WAS a viper sim. The market has been saturated with F-16 sim and frankly I’m tired of them. An F-18C sim would give you all the multi-role ability of the F-16 and the additional feature of Carrier Ops and Anti-Ship missions with the Harpoon.
